Unable to lock mailbox error

Hello,

Customer of mine was having problems getting mail, said it would just timeout when getting the imap mail. I telnet'd in and got the "MailBox in use" error, which I found the solution at this thread to get around that:

Now, this user gets the unable to lock mailbox error. What should be done from here?

To close this thread with a solution:

I created a new user (bob) and copied the mail file from (bill) to (bob). Logging in as bob allowed full access to viewing the mailfile. Copying the mailfile back from bob to bill still resulted in the error.

I deleted bill's mail file (with the copy in bob), and sent bob an email to recreate the mail file. I then copied the original mail file back to bill and upon logging in, all worked fine.

Not sure what the problem was, but that's how it was solved here.
