There's no real replacement for experience as a systems administrator to rebuild a system that's been hacked.

Which backup are you asking about? The system (sysbk) backup? Or the reseller or user level backups?

But you need to either remove the hack(s) or (preferably) completely restore your system (what we call a bare-metal rebuild) before you restore your backups.
