Email whitelist not saved in user backup?

This might look like an email question, but in fact is a question about the back-up system (and a bit of spamassassin...).

This weekend strange things happened with SPAM on my server, which I fixed (catch-all is your friend, if you switch it off!).

However, in the heat of the moment I switched off Spamassassin for some users to reduce load temporarily, but in doing so, it seems that their whitelist was cleared too!!

Not a problem, I thought - I have my nightly back-ups! However the folder /home/user/.spamassassin is not back-upped! This is the folder that contains the use user_prefs file with the whitelist...

Does anyone know how to include this folder in the built-in back-up system? I can only find a manual configuration for the system back-up.

Thank you for your input,

Harro

Okay thanks :)

I presume this means the whitelist is not recoverable :\ One for the 'lessons' learnt archive!

Thanks,

Harro

Hello,

It should be in your backup.

In the user.tar.gz file, it should live in:

backup/home.tar.gz

and in that file:

.spamassassin/user_prefs

(double extraction)

You *should* have it.. I do when I just tested it..

Also make sure you're using a new version of DA.

I stand corrected, the file is indeed there! Super!

I did not think to look inside the archive file home.tgz inside the archive.

Thank you for your help.
