I just got another centos server running directadmin and noticed that named is in yum.conf's excluded list. Could someone tell me why? As far as I can tell, directadmin doesn't install it's own version of bind.

It's not in the list I use:
Code:
$ grep exclude /etc/yum.conf
exclude=bind-chroot httpd* mysql* php* perl* apache* mod_* MySQL* *ftp* exim* sendmail* php* da_*
$

Who set up your server? Ask them.

hmm.. I thought it was a default thing considering all of the centos servers I have has this in yum. I believe if it's not DA doing this then Centos may have done this on purpose because bind is the correct program name that managers DNS and it is not called named.
