Ok so the topic heading doesn't make too much sense..
Heres my issue:
- I have domain.com hosted on a machine, including the DNS being hosted on the machine.
- The mail for domain.com is handled elsewhere (actually Google Apps) - so the MX values are those for google apps to handle the e-mail.
Everything is fine, no problems! UNTIL I try to send an e-mail from the machine that is hosting the website (and DNS) to an address at that domain. This includes sending normal e-mail and forwarders from other domains. Sometimes the message que shows that the account does not exist.
The way I see it, the server sees the domain locally and therefore is trying to deliver the mail locally - but in the dns zone the MX values are actually different...
Has anybody else had this problem, how can I go about fixing it?
Thanks v.much
Mike
