Hello all,
I've read on this page:
http://www.directadmin.com/install.html
Debian Sarge/Woody 3.1/Etch 4.0/Ubuntu (these are all variants of debian)
that ubuntu is supported.
I think that is not correct based on the stuff i've experienced while installing.
First of all, setup.sh completely doesnt work on a clean system.
For the install to work you need to edit the following file:
/etc/debian_version
This file contains default: lenny/sid
which is the code name for ubuntu.
setup.sh uses this file for the packages on:
http://files.directadmin.com/services/
which will result in:
http://files.directadmin.com/services/lenny/sid
which doesnt exists.
if you change your /etc/debian_version to 4.0 the path is:
http://files.directadmin.com/services/4.0/ which worked pretty good.
Only my question is, wont this mess up the server in the long run?
thanks in advance
