Bug in IP management

I had this problem today on one of our servers. Anything changed since this bug report for the issue?

/etc/init.d/network restart and /etc/init.d/startips start

Was the solution.

That's the correct solution if your network is restarted.
The assumption is that your network shouldn't be restarting itself on it's own, mid run.

If it is, then you may want to manually add your IP into the device/scripts in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/, eg:
