Restored Admin Backup (Lost Admin Stats + SSH Login)

Hi,

Just recently restored the user files of the admin account from a prior server installation. Most things are working correctly after a little tweaking here and there.

The only two issues I have, one of which is relatively minor are:

• The overall statistics are back to zero for the admin section of DA. (The bit where the user sees his space/bw allowances, but rather for the admin)
• I can no longer log into the admin account via SSH.

Any ideas on how to go about fixing this?

Try running this

echo 'action=tally&value=all' >> /usr/local/directadmin/data/task.queue
/usr/local/directadmin/dataskq

If still appear 0, show the following output

cat /etc/fstab

You can reset your directadmin admin account by the following command.

passwd admin

Thanks for the first bit! Worked like a charm.

However, I had already tried changing the admin password, I think perhaps the admin account has not been set to be allowed SSH access. I'll look into it now.

Edit: admin was not included in sshd_config, added it in. Whenever I log in to SSH now, it works, but then the TTY is instantly closed - it literally just flashes /etc/motd up.

Check in your /etc/passwd file; the file most include a valid shell for the admin user.
