Try to look at google, but didnt find anything.

Since last wednesday, when I updated my server to debian lenny, I receive every 15 minutes or so segfaults from lenny:
From my syslog:

I discovered 1 email in my mailqueue that at least triggers it:

I dont see anything special on this. Does anyone have a idea what the solution can be? Untill now it looks like it only happens on spam, but maybe it also will happen on normal mail later.

Thanks.

I've the same problem with lenny + da + exim 4.67

In mail queue i receive duplicate (and more more and more) of the same message. Not spam, true email and notification sended weeks ago and that return every 5 minutes in the queue. Some accounts receive the same mail 50-100... times.

Please help... it seems to be a bug

Same problem for me. Multiple modules fail after upgrading to Lenny:
- ISO8859-1.so
- libGB.so
- libKSC.so

The mail queue is rising to 1000 not processed mails a day, luckily it's only 99% spam. The mails failing always have an html body and some multipart/alternative content. Headers and body on request :)

Hello,

Note that we do not yet support Debian 5.0.. so I wouldn't recommend upgrading to it since none of the binaries are setup for it.

For the case of any segfaulting binaries (like exim in this case), they'd have to be recompiled. This is the guide for that:
http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=125
but as mentioned above, we've not yet looked at debian 5.0, so can't comment on what will/won't work regarding anything debian 5 related..

John

it looks like that did work. Its currently delivering all mails. Untill now I didnt find any other problems with running lenny.

Will the support to Lenny be available in the near future? Debian will stop supporting Debian Etch this month... I had to updgrade a customer's server to Lenny and now the server suffers the same problems reported here..
I will compile exim but I'm worried for this "lack" of support :(

Hello,

That's an old old post. We've support it for quite a while now.
Check the install requirements page to see the list of OS's:
http://www.directadmin.com/install.html

64-bit Debian 5 is almost done testing (no issues reported for quite some time), so you can use either 32-bit or 64-bit with Debian 5.

John

sorry... I didn't noticed it was 1 year old :D
thanks for your reply

the problem suddenly came back again. I tried to recompile exim to 4.73 but the problem yet persists:

[13236258.603830] exim[11082]: segfault at f8f ip 080b1ce7 sp bffbaa90 error 6 in exim[8048000+cc000]

usually it helps to recompile exim, i dunno why it didnt help now.

Hi.
Try to download da_exim-4.72.deb package and install it
Code:
# wget http://files.directadmin.com/services/debian_5.0/da_exim-4.72.deb
# dpkg -i ./da_exim-4.72.deb

Maybe you will need to install few dependences (libperl5.10 or db4)
Hope this help.

Also, check your binary to make sure the compile you did was actually installed, eg:
Code:
cd /usr/sbin
ls -la exim*
./exim -bV
check the "built" date to ensure it's when you compiled it. Running a "make install" will create the exim-4.73-1, where the 1 can change if there are previous instances of the binary, so take special note of it during the last steps of the compile/install.

John

i tried to recompile again, double checked everything, updated lenny, new exim is running but still same error.
