I cant link my domain to my homepage

I came on a problem that i couldn't change the file that is being displayed as the front page of my website. In the help guide they say you need to create a file name index.php or index.html. I created both files but still I only see the page that says i need to upload my files into the public_html folder. I already put the entire website in there including index.html and index.php. But still it won't load the page (index.html/index.php) that I uploaded...

Any idea's?

To where did you upload the index files? Full path please.
What is the web address?
Are you sure you are not seeing a cached page?

It took some time before the server switched the index files with the previous ones

I don't know what your problem was but that was not it. Files are replaced immediately. There is no delay. I suspect you did not clear your browser cache.
