File Randomly Changing Owner/Permission?

Howdy,

I've got a PHP file which has seemingly randomly become owned by 'root' rather than myself, and had its permissions set to 0. I can't do anything with the file (not even copy it, since I can't change its permissions to be able to read it!).

Please advise!

Do you own/run a DirectAdmin server? Or are you a client of a hosting company? I'd say the most likely culprit is someone is running a script checking for php scripts which may be flagging your script as dangerous and changing it so it can't run.
