I have a client who has used a web developer to design their website, then uploaded it to my server. They now have an error message when trying to access the website.

"Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL"

http://bistrostlouis.com/

When trying to view the /administration site for Joomla, that also appears to be broken as well. Any thoughts as to what I can do to resolve this issue on the server and make the customer happy ?

Thanks,

well, check if mysql is running, check if he created the mysql db from directadmin and check if the joomla config.php file is correctly configured.

Hi,

we currently have the same problem with our site www.green-waters.org
Unfortunately, I'm clueless how to fix it, as I dont have enough understanding of websites. (Our actual guy took off, leaving it like this )
If anyone could help me by guiding me through the process of fixing this, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

check the same things i sayd before. Many of us use to give sysadmin "assistance" and some for keep "an eye" on your box/problem requere for a payment.

Before hire someone, try check if DB exist and if config.php is correctly configured.
