Hi
I want to host only 2 website in a vps (vmware esxi4).
I will use Directadmin.
Can i choose 128 or 256 MB RAM?
Thanks

Honestly i dont know if will be enough, depend on websites... but.. is a vm so you can start with 128 (but i suggest start with 256) and then upgrade if needed.

Regards

Hello,

Do you have SWAP? How much? Equals to your RAM? If your VPS would use swap most of times, won't your provider suspend your virtual server?

If to believe Hardware section on this page

A minimum 512 megabytes of memory is required

Of course you might want to try with 256, if you've got swap, but a big customization would be required, and it's near to impossible (I'd rather say that) to run default installation with so little RAM. And I won't even test it with 128Mb RAM.

Besides the question if DirectAdmin would support it: we can never answer your question. You could have one website requiring 24GB of RAM or a website with a much lower footprint. Depends on code, queries and visitors. But a good guess would be to start with 256MB. Every VPS supplier allows you to grow if needed.

I beleive you need a minimum of 512MB to succesfully compile PHP 5.2.x
