I have setup a subdomain on raadvanarbeid.nl: nop.raadvanarbeid.nl. Sometimes it's reachable, sometimes not. I want to install forum software (fudforum) in this sub, and even though I am running mod_ruid2 it sometimes(!) asks to change permissions on the folder containing the installer (raadvanarbeid.nl/nop).
So when I can reach the sub I start the installer. When I reach the part where is says to change permissions I chmod to 777 and voila, the sub domain is no longer reachable. I can set it back to 755 to no avail. Last time I tried, it did not ask me to change permissions and I was able to finish the installation. But after it was finished I got the 'Oops, Google could not find etc' message again. When I ping nop.raadvanarbeid.nl I get "Unknown Host". I can of course still reach the subs folder by going to www.raadvanarbeid.nl/nop, but what's the point if the subdomain itself stops working all the time?
I have another domain with a subdomain (blog.lastpost.tv) and this one worked from day one. As far as I can tell everything is set up identical. httpd.conf files are the same, DNS servers are the same, A records are the same. Did I miss anything?
I'm running DA 1.44 on Centos 6.3 btw.
