Data Backup

Hi,

I making backups with Directadmin to another server, but those backups doesn't cover my needs.
The directadmin backups overwrite the old backups, I would like to have more advanced backups.
With more advanced backups I mean that I should have a longer history. But how to?

How to have bigger history then 1 backup

if you copy your backups in other server (using ftp o rsync), you may use rdff-backup to have some olders versions.

remember to delete older backup versions with the --remove-older rdiff-backup version.

I've used rdiff-backup as well (not for DA), it works quite good for keeping a copy of the latest files, but also having the option to go back in history.

However if you want to use DA's own backup system, since the latest version it is also possible to use dates in the backup names for rotation or retention. See http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1565
