Hello,
My eCommerce store is hosted on WHUK’s ( https://www.webhosting.uk.com/ ) reseller account. I am thinking to upgrade it with dedicated server for business purpose. Please guide me how much dedicated hosting is beneficial for me and what are its advantages?

Hello,

Nobody here I'd rather guess has ever seen your business plan, as well as no one of us here is a marketing specialist. So if you really want to get answers and don't intend to do a spam-advertising of a hosting company you'd better find a hosting company which sells dedics and read what they offer on their site.

zEitEr,
Thanks your reply. I just wanted to know from those users who have dedicated server and their experiences about dedicated server. Nothing else.

Two of our clients have dedicated servers from us with these Specifications; no problems.

CentOS6
DirectAdmin
24GB Memory
IPMI

One of these clients has 2TB RAID with hot spare, the other 1TB RAId, no spare.

Both of these users appear very happy with these solutions.

We use similar servers ourselves for our Shared and Reseller Shared solutions, and find they run fast and well with no high server loads or slowdowns.

Having IPMI is a must unless your datacenter has 24/7 on site staff, prompt ticket resolution, and doesn't charge an arm-and-a-leg for after-hour support, as it means you can log in to fix your server yourself, even if it's down. Even if it's shut off (really) for example, if you run a accidentally shutdown command without auto-restart, and even if you've messed up the network settings and can't reach it on the 'net. Because it offers a separate back-channel control, with it's own separate IP# and runs as long as the server is plugged in, even if it's turned off with the power switch.

If you don't want to have issues with hardware you'd better use a VPS or a cloud server. That's my opinion. I don't know your budget. If you can afford a dedicate from a high level hosting company and they guarantee to solve all issues with hardware immediately, then you choose...
