Looking to create proper PTR record

I am having some email rejection issues on a new server, which appear to be based on a missing PTR in the DNS setup. Following the instructions at http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=21, I have a question.

According to the instructions I should enter the server host names and the server name, server1.mydomain.com

However, dig-x shows the following result:
;; ANSWER SECTION:
XXX.XXX.XXX.XX.in-addr.arpa. 21287 IN PTR li111-225.members.hostingcompany.com.

Under that scenario, shouldn't I enter li111-225.members.hostingcompany.com. as the actual PTR record?

Hello,

Your hostname and rDNS should match each other, so if your hostname is server1.mydomain.com, then PTR record should be server1.mydomain.com as well:

hostname => IP => rDNS (PTR).

PTR (rDNS) record should be changed per a request to your hosting company or through their control panel.
