Hello,

I just have installed DirectAdmin on Debian 7 64-Bit and it works fine. But every time I restart the server ProFTPD is not starting and give the following error:

proftpd[1821]: fatal: ScoreboardFile: : unable to use '/var/run/proftpd/proftpd.scoreboard': No such file or directory on line 13 of '/etc/proftpd.conf'

There is no ProFTPD installed in the Debian-System and I still reinstall it over the Custombild.

It helps to manually add the directory /var/run/proftpd or /run/proftpd but after any reboot the directory is deleted.

Has somebody an idea what to do?

Hello,

You should either find why the directory gets deleted on every server reboot: is your /var/run/ partition is mounted as RAM disk (tmpfs)? or set a task to create the directory on every server boot (or add mkdir -p /var/run/proftpd/ into /etc/init.d/proftpd).

Thanks for your help.

I have changed the path in /etc/init.d/proftpd to /root/proftpd because I found some information that it would be normal for Debian/Ubuntu that the folder is cleared with reboot.
But I think your solution is even an easy way to solve the problem.
