"<IPv4>; 2001" is not a valid IP address for the "interface" option for remote_smtp transport
Can't we instruct exim to send on both a specific IPv4 and IPv6?.. By this link you can?

I want to do this as when emails get sent by DA (welcome emails, backup notifications, etc), the emails fail the SPF checks -
none (google.com: ..... does not designate permitted sender hosts) client-ip=<IPv6>

However, I have my SPF record set up with my rDNS IPv6's

I found that my hostname.domain zone had the ip6: missing.... Does it use any of that zone?

This is why I would like to see the use of an external SMTP server for DA emails, I know it'll never happen

Please check http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1692. It should support IPv6 without any problems.

Thank you very much, I did not know this feature, this answer to my problem in this post:

http://forum.directadmin.com/showthread.php?t=50059&page=8&p=264061&highlight=#post264061

Now with this feature enabled and the file domainips created by directadmin (client_domain:ip), it works correctly using "{$sender_address_domain}".

Another new feature in Directadmin to automatically add to the SPF TXT record the IPv4/v6 address assigned to the client/reseller, besides the server IP address?

Thanks

When the target SMTP host has both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, Exim will always prefer the IPv6 address, even if interface is set to an IPv4 address.

The only "solution" that worked for me was to disable ipv6 entirely.

Also see here.
