A new skin is in the works. There is a very small screenshot of it on the new website that is about ready to go into testing. Look for an announcement soon :)

Ah yes, the direct email tar. I might try and take a quick look at that to see if we can squeeze it in to 1.50.0, as it would be quite worthwhile.
May bump the release of 1.50.0 a few days, depending on how that goes.

John

That screenshot kinda makes me sad. I always loved how simple and clear DirectAdmin is even if it's not the nicest looking. If that theme is going to be forced on us we'll all be stuck with a panel that's nice looking but hard to navigate and harder to understand for tech illiterate customers

My guess is that the current (enhanced) will still be available. DA really needs a new and modern UI and interaction in my opinion :)

Is it possible to test the new skin in the future?

I find the current skin very hard to navigate. Especially for new users, I'm always looking where stuff can be found. After a while you just get used to it and finding stuff gets quicker.
In my opinion that's always the case with this kind of control panels, because of the huge amount of options.

A new look that makes the eyes hurt a lot less then the current one is a good thing. People aren't used anymore to the kind of plain-text look DirectAdmin has right now. A new, fresh, look is a good thing. Maybe we all get lost in the beginning, but as a said: new users are also lost in the current look.

Does the forum also get an update to modern software? I can offer my help with XenForo if you want to convert.

I'm not really sure a Forum Software change is in DA Staff mind, this is working pretty well for what we need it for..

because vbulletin are infamously known for not fixing sql exploits quick enough.
last year vbulletin.com/forum got hacked by Coldzer0 and they blamed it first on server issue and not a hack when the hacker created a youtube video on how he hacked vbulletin.
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...back/4332098-how-secure-is-vbulletin-software

however: https://theadminzone.com/data/attachments/37/37230-a6560e5010402c25d54594eddde70ccb.jpg

the exploit has been known to be quite old: https://blog.sucuri.net/2015/11/vbulletin-exploits-in-the-wild.html

however the dangerous bug was reported to vbulletin developers weeks ahead but the developers didnt bother fixing the bug and their site got hacked:
https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2015-7808

Heres more specific details on vbulletin receiving a exploit bug report from their own bug tracker site: http://blog.checkpoint.com/2015/11/05/check-point-discovers-critical-vbulletin-0-day/

heres the hackers confession https://theadminzone.com/threads/vbulletin-com-forums-hacked.136961/page-5#post-1017399

a vbulletin customer didnt get a email notification of the exploit for 5 days after the breach
https://theadminzone.com/threads/vbulletin-com-forums-hacked.136961/page-42#post-1019065

another bug
someone posted an analysis of a purported three-year-old bug that gives hackers the ability to remotely execute code in sites running vBulletin. "Welp, since it's fixed now anyway - a more than 3 years old vBulletin 5 PreAuth RCE,"
http://pastie.org/pastes/10527766/text?key=wq1hgkcj4afb9ipqzllsq

my point is that vbulletin is a horrible company that shows 0 transparency. The only reason why they eventually revealed to be a coding exploit was because the hacker submitted a screenshot of user dump in a screenshot from theadmincone.com forum
479895 users dumped in a text format with members email and hashed password is available on net.
in the end vbulletin learned absolutely nothing from 2013 hack.

Both the new site and the new skin look great. Nice work!

To use LetsEncrypt I need more IP right

You don't have to with SNI: http://directadmin.com/features.php?id=1100

This enables you to offer as many certificates as you want over one IP address.

This won't work on old PCs/phones, like Windows XP with IE 7. Although most users have upgraded since Microsoft has dropped support; there are areas in the world (e.g. China) where lots of people still use this. If you are active in that part of the world you might want to double check; for everyone else there is no problem at all.

Please show a "back to list" link in skin after edit/add items.

Looks nice.
I use the enhanced skin myself but i'd want to make this the default for new users. But only if there is enough google-hits for how to do stuff with this skin.

Skin feature / usability request:
After editing/adding something (like a user, or database user) please show a "back to list" link.
The shown back link goes back to the form i just entered, that i evidently wont need because i just did that.. Also it keeps confusing me whether its showing the latest or the initial values for that page/form.

This would make a much better standard workflow.

edit: these random forum questions are ridiculous..
Code:
fee fi fo ___
123 246 369 4812 _____ (5 digits)

Ehm, i don't know who Jack and The Beanstalk is :D And also if i knew, probably i was watching it in Italian so maybe was kinda different :p

But thanks for the response, now i know :p

Regards

Ah ok, now i know what fairy tail is that :D
And i can confirm, in the italian version there is not that "Fee-fi-fo-fum!" :D
