The provided information is not sufficient to identify the root cause of the issue. Check the current and rotated exim logs and find out where those emails come from.

It might be that you've got a spammer on your server or spamming script which sends emails in behalf of [email protected] and now you've got bounces.
 
You could also use mail queue administration if some of these mails are still in queue.
Look at the content, if it's a script sending spam, you have a good chance of finding which user and/or script in the headers.
