Hello everyone,
I currently run a Magento website with a Wordpress website installed as a subfolder inside Magento root folder, like http://mymagento.com/blog/. Is that a good way? Some people said that could pose security risks. Moreover, it also seperates the backup process.
So I am thinking about a solution of moving Wordpress out of Magento root folder. But I still want to allow users to access http://mymagento/blog/. Is there any ways to do that?

There is another option which you can try:- create blog.mymagento.com as a subdomain and move WordPress website in it.

Hello 24x7server,
Thanks for your suggestion but I prefer going with subfolder. Many people, even from Google, recommend that subfolder will have a better ranking than subdomain.

If you want to use folders, feel free to use folders. It's not clear what help do you want then?

WP can be of a high risk if to not to update it regularly and to use outdated and insecure plugins/addons.

Hello zEitEr,
I want to seperate Wordpress and Magento on different domain. I think that would be more secure for Magento.
But I also want to let users access my blog via http://mymagento.com/blog/.
In your experience, are there any workarounds for that? If it is simple, I will give it a try. If it is complex, then I stay with the current setup.

If you want to secure Magento you will need to install WP under a different user. As if you add two domains under one user it won't be that secure.

To redirect requests you will probably need to use proxy mode of your web-server.
