Do I need Brute Force Monitor with APF/BFD ?

On my VPS after Centos upgrade I have noticed two things.
    - 1 Brute Force Monitor is running
    - 2 APF/BFD does not detect/block brute force on email related ports

For many years I've been using APF/BFD and was quite happy with it.

Question: if I disable BFM will APF/BFD work as it used to, including
email related ports with dovecot and all ?

    Hello,

By default Brute Force Monitor only notifies and does not block any IP. You should follow the guide https://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=380 in order to let the BFM to block IPs.

As of now BFM can be used either with raw iptables or with CSF/LFD. I don't have any information on whether or not works with APF/BFD. So it's up to you to find it out.

I guess APF/BFD does not know anything about BFM at all, so you can run it safely with BFM disabled.

Please let us know your results.
    With regards, Alex.

Well, I should reiterate my question - how can I stop
/ disable / remove Brute Force Monitor ?

APF/BFD gives me all functionality I need, including
reporting, so I'd rather pass on BFM, and stick to APF
    /BFD.

Login as admin and go to administrator settings. You can disable brute force monitor on that page.
