Hi Guys,

Not really tech savvy in direct-admin but told a friend to help out with setting up his website. All went okay, but the email address can't be send to. We are able to send from the mail address.

Sending to the email address will give a time-out eventually saying the ...@... can not be reached. Now the last part is a default ip address of 127.0.0.1, seems like the email is not (correctly) activated? My guess, but I can't figure out where to start to correct this.

So if somebody could help me out to guide me in the correct solution to work this.

And at the same time I'm wondering why is it possible to send but not retrieve from this address?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Check exim logs and analyze exim queue in directadmin. We don't know what error you have there and why delivery fails.

Hi zEitEr, thanks for replying

Okay, so I found this: https://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=11
Which list al the links to the logs.

And I'm slowly getting to understand that maintaining DirectAdmin mostly doesnt happen through the UI?

So getting the log isnt as easy as logging into the UI? Or directly through the browser? Or...

Mail logs can be read in Directadmin UI at admin level.
Mail queue can be analyzed in Directadmin UI either at admin level.
Mail usage can be analyzed in Directadmin UI at user level.

If you need anything else, then you need to use root-console.
