On a lightweight Directadmin with CENTOS 7, CSF, CWAF and custombuild plugins i keep getting freshclam errors every 2-3 hours.
Reinstalled, used google and so on but i cant seem to resolve it.

I am a Noob+ on linux but i do know how Cfs etc. works, installed the server and da myself on a VPS.

I would like to find someone in the netherlands who can help me and maybe in the future with other problems.

freshclam.service failed.

I'm from the Netherlands, but I don't use cwaf, don't know if it has something to do with that.
However I'm quite amused about what you're company is offering when you're a noob on Linux. Only installing DA with CSF (and maybe cwaf) is not quite enough to secure and maintain servers.

1.) Did you try to start the freshclam service manually?
Code:
systemctl start clam-freshclam.service
2.) Check if the freshclam service is enabled by default after a reboot:
Code:
systemctl list-unit-files --type=service

I might be able to help you in NL in the future, depending on the kind of problems you want help with. :)

Also check the freshclam log for error messages.. The error message you described is just a general notification error. Depending on your settings in freshclam.conf it's in /var/log/messages or /var/log/freshclam.conf

The simple solution might be:

Code:
mkdir [COLOR=#333333]/var/run/clamd/

you might need to chown it clamav user (or clamd) depending on how you installed it

But I'd suggest changing PID file to [/COLOR]/var/run/freshclam.pid (in freshclam config) as the directory /var/run/clamd/ might remove on reboot.

mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/var/run/clamd/’: File exists

The list shows "clamav-freshclam.service disabled" so it won't start after a reboot, should be changed after you get it to work.

Does the /usr/lib/systemd/system/clamav-freshclam.service exists there (or anywhere else)?

i onderstand

But first it keeps stopping / Down..

Did you try to reinstall Clamav?
Code:
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build update
./build set clamav yes
./build clamav

then restart Exim # /etc/init.d/exim restart

check if Clamav is running: # netstat -tap | grep clamd
if not # service clamd start

We do talk in English, but it's no harm to type a few personal words in the own language, i've also seen it in other languages done by others, as long as it's not too much.
In this case it's too little to complaint about.

Thanks for all the help, i sometimes want to get help paid or not in the netherlands Maar dan wel NEDERLANDERS

yes, but if its the way to the solution, then its also of interest for others who may come to this problem and help them to understand the way to find the solution. for me its not a big prob at all, as dutch seems to be some strange mix between english and german (never understood why you guys couldnt decide to use either one of them ;) )

Well in fact you're wrong about that, although in the loop of time more English words entered the language. But in fact it's a mix between German and French. Especially in the south of the Netherlands.

As for the solution, mostly if I help somebody in Dutch I post the solution in English on the forum if the person itself doesn't do that.

(never understood why you guys couldnt decide to use either one of them ;) )
Same as we never understand why you guys (as only in Europe) couldn't decide to finally start driving on the correct side of the road. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@ereemst Just send me pm if you need help in 't Nederlands if you encounter some issue. ;)

didnt get the joke. here in AT we are driving at the right side, as same as you in NL. Only in GB (and their colonies) they are on the wrong left side. so for you, the right side is the same as for us in AT. BTW.. dutch is the only language where i must speak it out loud, to get a chance to understand a little. in other (francophones) languages, its easier to see it written.

didnt get the joke. here in AT
Ah sorry, yes indeed.. you're in AT, I confused you and thought it was UK. :)
I don't know about the languages, in written I've got the most issues with French also with speaking. German is not a problem and English is around the same as my own language. ;)
