Hey,

I've done some searches of the forum and Google but can't seem to find the answer to the question of what settings we use to set up IMAP on Thunderbird for a domain set up in DA.

Autodetect won't work for me.

What is the Incoming IMAP server? mail.domainname.com? And what port?

What is the Outgoing SMTP server? mail.domainname.com? And what port?

I tried the above options with the standard ports and it did not work for me.

Also, what settings for SSL and Authentication.

For username is it just firstname.lastname or is it [email protected]?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Are you a server owner? Or you rent a server? Or you are probably an user of a hosting company which uses Directadmin as Web-UI for managing user accounts?

As an user you should contact your hosting company if default settings do not work for you:

IMAP: 143 port, mail.domain.com or imap.domain.com
POP: 110 port, mail.domain.com or pop.domain.com

and/or check your firewall settings.

I have a VPS with Knownhost.

Using the ports you provided worked. Much thanks!

I used mail.domainname.com for both IMAP and SMTP.

I didn't have to fiddle with any of the other options once I used the correct ports that you provided.

I spoke a little too soon. The ports you mentioned allowed me to download my emails but I had to set the SMTP port to the default of 587 to send email successfully.
