strange mysql problem

ive just got a new dedicated server with direct admin installed

and i go to create mysql databases in the control panel

and i get this error

Error connecting to MySQL: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

anyone know how to sort it?
 
just checked and its all fine in the configure.php

its so weird i need it to work :mad:
 
If everything else is working (e.g. otehr php scripts), you might ask DirectAdmin about this.
 
I now have another problem, i have restored my databases but now its saying this

Table 'cpg11d_albums' is read only

how do i sort them all out?
