Hi,

A user who payed to control his own DNS settings started experimenting yesterday, he created a number of stupid entry's, luckely he deleted most of it, but it was enough to get my attention. (He tried to add a port number to a certain entry  )

But i am unable to delete one entry he created.
He created a A record which says * A <ip>, since this is not nessecary, i want to delete it, but when i try DA doesn't remove it.
Doesn't matter on which level (admin,reseller,user) i'm on... :(

Is there another way to solve this ?

Hello,

I'll add that to be fixed. You'll need to manually remove the record from the /var/named/domain.com.db file.

John and everyone,

For those of us who are using slave DNS on a different server, it's also necessary to update the serial number.

The serial number is in a line of itself near the top of the dns zone file (at /var/named/domain.name.db); it look similar to this:

2003103004

You can change it by incrementing the number; for example, if I were making a change to this dns file, I'd change this number to:

2003103005

before saving it.

It's also necessary to restart the named daemon after any changes to the zone files:

# service named reload

(The # means do it as root; do NOT type the #.)
