While FreeBSD 4.11 and DA are working just fine for me I want to step up and tackle the learning curve and jump into a new OS. I just purchased a Dual Opteron 246 system and want to use 64bit OS as well as DirectAdmin. I am somewhat familiar with FreeBSD adn several years ago attend 3 Sun courses on Solaris 7.

From what I gather CentOS, Fedora, and SUSE are solid. This question really isn't about a better OS but which one does DA primarily code to? After ensim, cPanel and webmin I have full confidence that I will stick with DA since my last purchase.

My understanding is that DA is first coded for Red Hat Linux; I'm not sure which version so I'm bringing this thread to DA staff attention.

Hello,

It was born on a Redhat 7.2 system. Freebsd was added next, and now we have Debian (We don't support suse).

For 64-bit OS's, we currently have Enterprize/CentOS 4.1 64-bit.

Thank you very much for the reply. I have already downloaded 64 bit CentOS 4.2 which from what I have read has changed very little from 4.1.
