Why directadmin dont update PhpmyAdmin?

And, why i can update these if i lose Root password xD
 
DirectAdmin only does the initial install.
There are numerous script that can be found on these forums that will upgrade it, including a DA plugin with an interface.

And, why i can update these if i lose Root password
