Ok,

We heard of our users that it is inoying that the DA user is olso a mailbox but without the @domain.com. Now we just don't tell
them that there is one. But i can still be seen at the e-mail menu.

Isn't it better just to drop that mailbox and that it make's a standard mailbox like postmaster or [email protected]? with the same password as the DA user? And then that the catch-all is set to that standard e-mail account. So you will never lose a mail when an domain is moved.

Hello,

The reason we keep the system email account is because of script that send mail. Things like cgi form mailers will run as the username, which is essentially orginating from the system account. Also, username@hostname should work (Assume the MX records are setup) which can be used in case your domain is down or you don't have a domain at all. It just offers a bit more flexibility all around (and confusion ;)).

Ok, thanx for the explanation. But is it nessecarie to show it in the overview of pop boxe's? Because we make a loginname that is nog the same as its name. We use valoginname. And that's why we don't want to show the loginname at the pop boxe's.

For 99% of people, it's where it should be... It's one of those cases where we have to make a decision, and the majority generally get's their way.

Ok, I agree,

but the catch-all adres idea is also not good? that
the catch-all will standard go to a standard created mailbox?

or something like that?

Hello,

You can forward the catch-all where ever you want... it's just a forwarder. User Panel -> Email -> Catch-All.
