I was wondering if anyone was familer with SiteStudio.
I have a customer that is trying to up load thier website but for some strange reason it names the files as index.ims
Does anyone know how to change the appropriate files to make them work?

I have no idea although i would suggest simple using the file manager include within DirectAdmin or using an FTP account.

Wheird.. if they are standard html files (named ims), you could simply add a mime-type in DA:

User Panel -> Advanced Options -> Mime Types

and enter:
text/html ims
