I use SecureCRT 4.1 for SSH access to my servers. My Directadmin server is running CentOS 4.3.

What terminal type do yall use? It has one called Linux and I thought that seemed appropriate but thought I would ask. Thi sis my first Linux server in a long time (Red Hat V4 was the last one before I moved to FreeBSD).

Such an interesting question I decided to look it up on my Windows laptop.

My Windows lapop uses putty, and it identifies itself to the OS as PuTTY which seems to work fine.

The only issues generally important are function keys, the clearscreen command, and the backspace. We don't use function keys much in systems administration, and if your backspace key and the clear command work, that's good enough :) .

On our linux desktops we simply open up a local terminal windows and log in using ssh, so I presume we're getting whatever the standard key-bindings are for our desktop linux :).
