for anyone who wants or was planning to make a cpanel -> direct admin converter and didnt know what cpanel files needed to do what, here is a break down. I am no cpanel guru but this is what I made from what I had.
download the cpanel account backup: http://www.3spades.net/cpbackup.tar.gz
folder structure, bold means its a folder
cp - cpanel user file
cron - holds cron job file
fp - frontpage config files
homedir - public_html/ftp folders, mail folders, etc folders. term folders,
logs - logs
mm - mailing list files
mma - contains priv and pub folders, always empty
mysql - each database has a folder inside are the table myi myd frm files
va - mail autoresponders
vf - mail fowarders (i think), contains domain and park/addons, no info inside files
addons - addon domains and their corresponding subdomains
mysql.sql - all databases
nobodyfiles
pds - park domains
proftpdpasswd - ftp passes
quota - disk quota (in mb)
sds - subdomains
shadow - shadow file
shell - type of shell

cp/username output:
IP=x.x.x.x - ip of the domain or shared ip the domain is on
STARTDATE=1072493354 - generated creation of account date
DNS=tester.com - main dns info, always specifies main domain on account
RS=x - cpanel theme, not important in move to direct admin
OWNER=root - owner of the account ie:root or username of reseller
PLAN=undefined - name of plan if specified on signup
MAXFTP=10 - max ftp accounts
BWLIMIT=104857600 - bandwidth limit: # / 1024 / 1024 = bandwidth limit in megs
MAXSQL=10 - max sql datbases
MAXPOP=10 - max pop3 addys
MAXLST=10 - max mailing lists
MAXPARK=1 - max park domains
MAXADDON=1 - max addon domains
FEATURELIST=default - cpanel feature list, useless info for direct admin
MAXSUB=10 - max subdomains
DNS2=buddy.tester.com - dns2-# will represent a subdomain, park domain or addon domain
