i am thinking about something about the mail server failover/clustering/loadbalancing

is there any impact if:

1. i put the maildir and imap folder to the network storage.

2. and and then mount the drive by many mail server

3. and then i put more mx record to process incoming mail.

4. all the mail server is processing the same data.( same folder in the network storage)

is that will cause any impact. ?

or is there anysolution to do the failover or loadbalancing ?

Thanks a lot

will the mailbox indexing comes wrong ?

if using dovecot and maildir format, no. I believe you have to change an option in dovecot to ensure extra locking via NFS.
