Virtual Name Server...

ok im having problems creating resellers name server, I logged onto there account go into Nameserver

click the Virtual: box then hit create...

I get this error msg -

Cannot execute your request

Details:

Error resolving ns1.ourdomain.net


How do i setup virtual name servers for my clients?
I only have one ip address that came with the server

xx.xx.xx.xx

when i select that ip address and try to create a virtual nameserver it say

Cannot execute your request

Details:

xx.xx.xx.xx is the server ip and you are not allowed to create a nameserver on it

Right now xx.xx.xx.xx is used as ns1.ourdomain.com and ns2.ourdomain.com

I would like to see a howto on this also I am interested how to set something like this up.

I think i found a way but im not sure if this will harm my system

under the DNS Administrator tab i just add :

NS1.RESELLERDOMAIN.COM & NS2.RESELLERDOMAIN.COM

so it look something like

ayscliondance.com. NS ns1.RESELLERDOMAIN.com
ayscliondance.com. NS ns1.MYSERVERNS.net.
ayscliondance.com. NS ns2.RESELLERDOMAIN.com
ayscliondance.com. NS ns2.MYSERVERNS.net.

does that work or should i do it a different way?

Got it to work the virtual name server this is how you set it up in Direct Admin :

go to DNS Administration » Entry for server.yourdomain.com (your main domain)

then add 2 new A record :

ns1.yourdomain.com. A xx.191.36.xx (your server ip)
ns2.yourdomain.com. A xx.191.36.xx (your server ip)

once you finish give it some time for the DNS to refresh and now you can create virtual nameservers...
