Inserted jpg not showing up

I'm using MSWORD as an editor. I save the file as index.html. FTP it up to my public_html folder...no problem.

I edit the file to add an inserted a jpg. I save, yada, and ftp the new index.html and the jpg I used to index_html.

The home page shows up, but the picture isn't there and shows as an "X" (broken link?)...I know I FTPd the jpg to the index_html folder, and if I use just a background color instead of a jpg, it is fine.

Why can't I use a jpg as my home page background?

PS Sorry if this is stupid....

Bring up the page in your browser, right click on the "X" and select Properties.

See what the path to the image is and then check to see if it's where the page thinks it should be. If not, move it or change teh path.

You're first mistake is using MSWORD for webdesign..lol.
