apache2 reading requests

Dear all,

I got a problem on a server (not running DirectAdmin!) that it fills up all the client slots with "Reading Request"processes.

Which don't get killed :-(

Anyone know how to avoid this strange fenomenon.
Don't feel much for killing the processess al by hand

"C" Closing connection, "L" Logging, "G" Gracefully finishing,
"I" Idle cleanup of worker, "." Open slot with no current process

After killing ALL the pid's bij hand, it seems to stop happening.
I would however know what causses this? Anyone an idea?
