Hi,

This may be a veru stuppid question, if it is I'm sorry :)

Everyone who sent me an email have to get an autoreply with something like:
'I received your e-mail and will sent you a reply soon'

But I also want to have the orriginal e-mail what was sent to me in my inbox so I can reply it.

I tryed it out with an autoreplyer (but i didn't receive the message in my inbox)
I tryed with a vacationmessage (but I didn't got a autoreply).

Is this an error on my server or am I doing something wrong? I already read the Site Helper.

Hello,

You have to add a line with the value "unseen" to the "userautoreply:" section of the /etc/exim.conf. The vacation message should already have the unseen bit, so it should be sending out the autoreply already and saving the original message.

The /var/log/exim/mainlog should have some clues as to what it's doing.

John,

I'm curious - what's the logic on the default setting for this?

I would think that if someone wanted an autoresponder that didn't deliver anywhere they simply wouldn't make a corresponding pop3 account with the same name (or forwarder with the same name).

It really seems the default should be changed - or am I missing something? It seems the current default more people than it helps.

Thanks

Hello,

The default has been changed in the file at files.directadmin.com/services/exim4.conf . We just havn't repackaged our exim rpms with it yet.
