Hi,

I was wondering if there is a easy way of migrating directadmin accounts from 1 server to another? We want to replace one of our servers with a new one which would involve importing accounts from the old server (directadmin) to the new server (directadmin).

( Old server is freebsd 5.3, new server debian 3.1)

Regards,

Sander

Backup all the accounts and restore them on a new server.

No, it's still in beta, you should use the one from the reseller level.

yes, i tried this method before and really work without any setting

but somethings to tell you
1. when you restore the backup, you should choose the new server IP ( if changed)
2. when you restore the backups in reseller level of admin account, all those restoring accounts will be shown as " created by admin" but not the org. one (even other admin account or reseller account)

P.S. i don't know whether the restoring proccess have error shown or not as your server's OS is changed.
i did it on the same linux (centos)

Yes, the best way to do this is to use the backup and restore functions at the reseller level.

I wrote some extra scripts to help with this, since I had trouble with the backups not including all mysql databases and files not owned by the user:

Account transfers in DirectAdmin
