there is one admin account for ftp of the root site by default (creator is root). is there any way to remove/disable the admin user for ftp? or can we suspend that domain name for root? Thanks.

You could remove the user from /etc/proftpd.passwd

Chris
If we want to deny a user complete access to their account after they have been suspended, is it possible to remark out that username from the proftpd.passwd file?
During a suspension, we dont want the user to be able to ftp in and take off with their files...

any suggestions would be great.

I haven't messed with user suspension lately since we don't follow that billing method.
If DirectAdmin doesn't automatically remove access from ftp, ssh, etc. you should be able to comment out the necassary lines with a preceding "#" (no quotes), and restart proftpd.
