Hi,
i am interest to install freebsd 4.9 with directadmin.
Until now i not have work in freebsd, so can you please inform me some sample examples about good partitions for a directadmin server?
The scecifications is:
P4 2.8G
1G ram
80G HDD

My datacenter can install freebsd, i just want to know what space it is better to put in every partition.
I think about swap /boot /var / and maybe /home.
Can the current freebsd server administrators can give me info about what partitions can recomended for a 80G HDD?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Christos

Hello,

I'd probably do something like this:

/boot - 100 meg
/var - 10 gig
/ - 10 gig
/home - rest

Emails and logs are in /var, so just need to be sure there is enough room.

Hi,
thanks a lot jhon for the info.
So it is better to give 15G in /var to make sure that have space? In practise you can see that 10G is ok (for a 80G partition?) or it is better to go in 15G?
