suPHP broken by the new templates for httpd in DA upgrades

Recently I did an upgrade to the latest version of DA on all of my servers. Which included several which have suPHP built from source and done with mode of owner (and paranoid breaks things).

Is there any way the custom httpd vhost additions can be done in some other fashion (or that the suPHP could be done simply as owner instead of being done as paranoid).

I've found owner mode works perfectly fine (been running suPHP to have php4 and php5 side by side, running in this fashion for roughly a year on some of my systems).

If I am reading this correctly, then this will now be requiring me to manually merge any major changes to the default templates into custom ones on each upgrade performed to directadmin?

This is exactly what I was trying to avoid being stuck needing to do....

No, when you will have custom templates - you won't need to do the steps again after every directadmin upgrade.

smtalk,

I understand that part, what I mean is attempting to avoid having to manually adjust the templates when DA does feature changes on the apache virtual host templates. Or don't those change or get adjusted barely ever?
