hi everyone.. recently setup postfix on ubuntu 6.06 LTS, along with webmin gui.
all working fine, until i a local user was sent a mail over 10mb
no problem i thought!! change the max_message_size (default 10240000) to a larger number. firstly i tried changing this in webmin.. changed the number, clicked save and apply, went back to double-check the value, and the default was still showing.
so next, i modified /etc/postfix/main.cf directly via a console... max_message_size wasnt in the file, so i added it, restarted postfix, ran 'postconf -d | grep size' and received max_message_size = 10240000
after some head scratching and looking round for other main.cf files.. reading thru docs etc.. i gave up... can someone please shed some light?? i'm not a postfix guru (yet)
