I was wondering if there are special things I need to do to the configure of clamav to make it work with spamblocker 3

Can I just install clamav using a repo, and spamblocker 3 will use it?

There's a version of SpamBlocker3 just for ClamAV; you should use that one :) .

And you should probably read the header here and the README here.

Here's an important snippet from the former:
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're using a version of the SpamBlocker exim.conf file
with ClamAV support, then ClamAV must be installed on your server. We've
tested our SpamBlocker exim.conf files with the installation of ClamAV found
here:

http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=10478

BUT ... don't make any of the changes noted therein to the exim.conf files
located here; those changes are already built in to our SpamBlocker
exim.conf files.

Additionally, if you're using a verison of the SpamBlocker exim.conf file
with ClamAV support then you must add file at:

/etc/virtual/skip_av_domains

This file should contain the domain names (without the "www") of domains
for which email should NOT be tested against ClamAV.

The file should have the same ownership and rights as the file:

/etc/virtual/use_rbl_domains

I think you missed my question. I used the version of spamblocker with dovecot and clamav. I got that. As well as the exim.pl

What I was wondering is if there is something I need to do to clamav as well.

Shouldn't have to, since the ClamAV installation should st it up to run automatically with exim.

Sweet. I installed it, no problems so far. I ran that test (followed the link in the howto) and nothing made it thru.

Also, seems to be much less load then mbox and spamblocker 2.1.1

Now running dovecot, spamblocker 3.0, and spamassassin. Sweet.

Thanks!
