Hello Forum!

After a lot of stuggle, I got Mepis, not Debian, installed on my laptop. For some reason, I could not tweek the video driver just right to get Debian working.

My question is this. Is Debian superior enough to justify my going back and trying to retry installing Debian now that I can look at the command line and see what my laptop's video settings are?

We have no idea. This is a forum for webhosting companies using the DirectAdmin webhosting control panel on their servers.

I have similar questions on my own laptop installation. I don't take them here because this isn't the proper place for them.

That said, once you've installed Mepis, you've got Debian. All you have to do is put the Debian repositories into the apt-get setup and you can add anything from them over the 'net.

Good help can most likely be gotten from any Mepis forum.

We find the best magazines for linux desktop (and laptop) users are Tux, a pdf-based magazine, and Linux Format, an old-fashioned forrest-killing magazine.
