Hi,

I installed clamav-daemon and spamassassin using apt-get.

I have managed to enable clamav in /etc/exim.conf, I get the proper header inserted and the incoming mail is being scanned.

I have also enabled SA in /etc/exim.conf by enabling the derector section:
spamcheck_director:
driver = accept
condition = "${if and { \
{!def:h_X-Spam-Flag:} \
{!eq {$received_protocol}{spam-scanned}} \
{!eq {$received_protocol}{local}} \
{exists{/home/${lookup{$domain}lsearch{/etc/virtual/domainowners}{$value}}/.spamassassin/user_prefs}} \
{<{$message_size}{100k}} \
} {1}{0}}"
retry_use_local_part
transport = spamcheck
no_verify

But I don't see the incoming mail being scanned by spamc (present at /usr/bin/spamc)

I'm a old sendmail/postfix admin, complete newbie with exim...

Pointers apriciated.

I don't know anything about the Debian OS, but it may be using spamd. Do you get SpamAssassin headers in your incoming email?
