Installing ImageMagick

Hi,

Is there any issues regarding DA and installing ImageMagick or can I just go right ahead?

How careful do I have to be when installing something on my server with DA?

Can I also install AFP? Which ports needs to be open for DA to work properly?

If you search in the forums you will notice that most of the time DirectAdmin is not dependant on custom built software. Most of the stuff is upgradable easily. ImageMagic can be install with NO problems at all.

As for the firewall you can use AFP or you can use ProWebUK's tutorial .

basic rundown:
80, 443 tcp Apache
53 udp BIND
2222 tcp DirectAdmin
25 tcp SMTP
20, 21 FTP
POP3 tcp 110
IMAP4 tcp 140
ssh tcp 22

Yet Another Old Thread Without A Resolution

  There hundreds of posts on this forum alone saying otherwise, including a few which report failed IM installs which have caused damage to DA.
  
  Have pity on us *nix newbies please! Does anyone have a "Step By Step How To Install An ImageMagick RPM" which will work on an RHL 9 DA server?
