View Full Version : ./build: Permission denied ERROR

myuserid
02-28-2008, 12:52 AM
Tried installing custombuild on a new box and received:
"./build: Permission denied" when I tried the "./build update_data" command.
Never received that before.
I then did "chmod 777 build", which worked, but when I came to "./build all" I got MD5 checksum errors.
Tried re-installing, same error.

Try:

cd /usr/local/directadmin
mv custombuild custombuild.old
wget http://files.directadmin.com/services/custombuild/1.1/custombuild.tar.gz
tar xvzf custombuild.tar.gz
cd custombuild
./build update

cd /usr/local/directadmin
mv custombuild custombuild.old
wget http://files.directadmin.com/services/custombuild/1.1/custombuild.tar.gz
tar xvzf custombuild.tar.gz

./build update

No, still doesn't work:

[root@seagate custombuild]# ./build update
-bash: ./build: Permission denied

chmod 755 build

And report this problem to DirectAdmin support :)

Hello,

Fixed. It was a wrong md5.

Delete the versions.txt and try it again.

Right, mod_ssl has wrong version set. It needs to be 2.8.31 instead of 2.8.31-1.3.41.

the mod_ssl checksum is now incorrect as well:

Hello,

You must still have the old versions.txt

Delete the versions.txt.

rm -f versions.txt
./build update_dataJohn

no, I did that

Which files.directadmin.com server are you using?
I've only updated the main one. The mirrors are synced nightly.

[root@server]# dig files.directadmin.com

; <<>> DiG 9.2.1 <<>> files.directadmin.com
;; global options: printcmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 44170

;; QUESTION SECTION:
;files.directadmin.com. IN A

;; ANSWER SECTION:
files.directadmin.com. 9026 IN A 72.35.85.222

Check to see if it resolves to 72.35.85.222 for you.
If it doesn't, edit your /etc/hosts file, and add:
72.35.85.222 files.directadmin.comJohn

myuserid

Yes its resolving to the main server:

Check the md5 code that you get vs the code that is in the versions file, eg:
[root@sever custombuild]# cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
[root@sever custombuild]# md5sum autoconf-2.61.tar.gz
51f472f71a6a04850a0f0126bf594cdb autoconf-2.61.tar.gz
[root@sever custombuild]# grep autoconf versions.txt
autoconf:2.61:51f472f71a6a04850a0f0126bf594cdb
[root@server custombuild]#see if the hash matches.

myuserid
02-28-2008, 02:31 PM
Looks the same to me:

[root@seagate custombuild]# md5sum autoconf-2.61.tar.gz
51f472f71a6a04850a0f0126bf594cdb autoconf-2.61.tar.gz
[root@seagate custombuild]# grep autoconf versions.txt
autoconf:2.61:51f472f71a6a04850a0f0126bf594cdb
[root@seagate custombuild]#

So.... there shouldn't be any issues..

If you type:
./build autoconfdo you still get the MD5 error, or has it passed?

If you still get an error, it might be easiest just to send me your root login info to figure it out.

John,
New server deployed a few hours ago, just tried custombuild and I still have the checksum errors:

04:51:15 (178.70 KB/s) - `/usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/mod_ssl-2.8.31-1.3.41.tar.gz' saved [820067/820067]

/usr/bin/md5sum: mod_ssl-2.8.31-1.3.41.tar.gz: No such file or directory

*** MD5 Checksum for mod_ssl-2.8.31-1.3.41.tar.gz Failed. Redownloading...***

The checksums match, but your script doesn't seem to see this. I've tried custombuild on 3 servers now and they all have checksum errors.
The errors can be found when you run:
./build all
wait until it downloads mod_ssl or curl.
