Doing a server migration and trying to make the new server identical to the old as far as accounts/domains/users etc. Got the DA part done, but trying to snag email (mail messages) as well.
Was pointed to this IMAP App to do it, but for some reason it won't connect to the new servers IP (DNS still points to the in production server).
Anyone have any suggestions? They would be much appreciated.
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but if it is DNS related just use the IP address of the new server instead of it's name. For instance move imap.domain.com to destination 192.168.0.1
I can't see a reason for name resolution in a copying script like that.
If you want the actual Mail messages (emails), then you should be able to just copy over /var/spool/mail/* and /var/spool/virtual/* (keep the permissions). Have a look at www.directadmin.com/paths.html for a list of files DA uses.
